Website help that actually gets done.

From a quick fix to a full redesign, I work with small businesses on website projects of all sizes. No agency overhead. No job too small.

Get in touch

Most small businesses don't need a full-service agency.

They need someone who'll take a sensible brief, do the work properly, and not disappear once the invoice is paid.

Whether you need a new section added to your WordPress site, a layout issue sorted on Squarespace, a product page set up on Shopify, or something that's just broken and you're not sure why — I can usually turn it around quickly and without the back-and-forth you'd get from a larger outfit.

For businesses that need a full redesign, I take on a small number of projects each year. These are focused, well-scoped builds: a clean, fast site that represents you properly and doesn't require a developer to maintain going forward.

What I can help with

Quick Fixes & Updates

Something's broken, or you need a change made and your current developer isn't responding. I can usually pick these up quickly and get things sorted.

New Sections & Features

Adding a service page, a testimonials section, a contact form, or a pricing table. Small additions that make a real difference to how your site performs.

Performance & Speed

Slow sites lose visitors and rankings. I clean up the technical side — images, code, plugins — so your site loads quickly and stays that way.

Platform Help

Stuck on something in WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or Shopify? If you're not sure how to do something or something isn't working as it should, I can help.

Full Website Redesigns

When the site needs more than a tweak. Scoped properly, built to last, and handed over with everything documented so you're not reliant on me to keep it running.

Platform Migrations

Moving from one platform to another without losing your content, your search rankings, or your sanity. Planned carefully, executed cleanly.

WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, or Shopify?

I work across all the main platforms. For most small businesses, one of these is already the right choice — you don't need something custom-built and expensive to maintain. If you're not sure which platform suits your situation, that's worth a conversation before any work starts.

How a redesign works

For full redesign projects, I follow a straightforward process that keeps things on track and avoids the usual surprises.

1

Discovery

A proper conversation about your business, your clients, and what your website actually needs to do. This shapes everything that follows.

2

Scope & Quote

A written brief with a fixed price. You know exactly what you're getting, and there are no surprises at invoice time.

3

Design

Clean, considered design that reflects your business and puts the right information in front of the right people.

4

Build & Test

Built properly, tested across devices and browsers, and optimised for speed before it goes anywhere near a live server.

5

Handover

Full access, clear documentation, and a walkthrough of how to manage the site going forward. No ongoing dependency on me unless you want it.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you turn around a small job?

For straightforward fixes or updates, usually within a few days. I'll always give you a realistic timeframe upfront so you're not left waiting and wondering.

Do you work with websites built by other developers?

Yes. I'm used to picking up existing sites and working within whatever's already been set up. I'll always tell you upfront if something looks like it'll cause problems further down the line.

My website isn't on WordPress — can you still help?

Yes. I work across WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, and Shopify. Get in touch with the details and I'll let you know what's possible.

What if the job turns out to be bigger than expected?

I'll tell you before I start, not after. If I look at something and the reality is more complex than it seemed, you'll know what's involved before any extra work begins — and you can decide how you'd like to proceed.

How much does a full redesign cost?

It depends entirely on the scope. The best way to get an accurate figure is to get in touch with a brief description of what you need — I'll come back with an honest assessment and a fixed quote.

Do you offer ongoing support after a project?

Yes. I offer an ongoing website and digital operations retainer for businesses that want regular support, proactive improvements, and someone to call when things need attention.

What clients say

I've both hired Dave as a developer and worked in partnership with him on projects, and I would do so again without hesitation. His work quality, diligence and friendly nature make him my top recommendation.

Mark Bowley

Bowley Design

Dave's WordPress skills outshine every one of the half-dozen WordPress development companies I have worked with.

James Zolman

Industry Leader

Just wanted to say thank you for being patient with my hugely overbearing enthusiasm and well done. The site looks wicked, lots of people are loving it already and it feels great.

Dave Wilkinson

One person. No account managers.

I've been working in digital since 2004. In that time I've built websites, managed projects, untangled broken workflows, and helped small businesses make sense of an increasingly complicated set of tools and decisions.

I work directly with every client. When you email me, I reply. When something needs sorting, I sort it.
